Learn Academies Trust

What We Do

“Success for us means not only strong, individual academic outcomes but also confident, kind and capable young people ready for the next stage of their journey”.

We provide nurturing and inclusive school environments where every child in the Trust is encouraged to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

All schools continually strive to deliver a broad and balanced, relevant and modern curriculum that sparks curiosity, cultivates ambition, fosters creativity and builds strong foundations in literacy (including digital literacy), numeracy (including data analysis) and critical thinking.

Beyond a knowledge and skills education, all schools have a strong focus on developing character, resilience and a sense of community in all our children.

Our approach is fully aligned to our core aims of equity, well-being and excellence

We are research-led, child-centred, highly collaborative and values-driven across our Community and Church of England Schools. Safeguarding is robust and is our paramount concern. Learning is rooted in high expectations for all.

We believe in and commit to:

  • Kindness, fairness, integrity, humility, mutual respect and understanding.
  • Well-being and inclusion; ensuring every child feels safe, valued and supported.
  • Children having a significant voice in, and increasingly taking ownership of, their educational journey.
  • Personalised learning and support that meets the needs of every child.
  • Positive relationships between staff, children and families.
  • Collaborative teaching and professional development that draws on the strengths of our growing and talented team across the Trust.
  • Continuous improvement; using data, assessment, school monitoring and feedback to inform future teaching and learning.
  • We work closely with parents and carers recognising that the best education stems from partnership.
  • Ensuring effective and efficient use of public funds.
  • Professional responsibility and accountability.

We will succeed by:

  • Fostering a culture of equity, well-being and excellence where all our children and staff are ambitious, happy, healthy and supported to achieve their individual potential during their time with us.
  • Working together with courage and openness to make the right decisions in the best interests of our children.
  • Investing in professional development and talent management to ensure our teachers are skilled, reflective, and innovative.
  • Using strong, evidence-based strategies to inform improvements in teaching and learning
  • Developing cost effective, expert professional services within the Trust to support with all corporate matters so that headteachers and teachers can concentrate their efforts and expertise predominantly on school improvement and the children’s experience, progress, personal development and attainment.
  • Ensuring we continue to advance strong and effective governance at all levels (Trust Board and local governance).
  • Building strong community links that enrich learning and broaden horizons; enabling the children to make important contributions to the world around them.
  • Ensuring a strong sense of belonging in everyone who joins our community. We understand, love and care for each other, embracing our huge and exciting array of differences.
